Brgy. Barosbos, Carles is a 3- to 4-hour drive from Iloilo City. The Rotaract Club of West Visayas State University, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, went there to implement 8 projects in one day.

This joint project simultaneously held 8 activities involving film showing, storytelling, feeding, computer tutorial, livelihood lesson, tree planting, distribution of school materials, medical and dental mission, and circumcision.

The film showing and storytelling entertained pupils of Barosbos Elementary School. The computer tutorial educated the students of Don Casimiro National High School with aid of Acer in providing the computers. The outreach program fed 250 children of the community and the Grades 1-3 pupils were happy recipients of free school materials. Some of the parents of the village actively participated in the livelihood lesson in fish preservation on fish ball making with the help of TESDA personnel Joeselle C. Singson. The tree planting activity was actively participated in by some of the village constituents. The seedlings came from the Provincial Office of Iloilo.

The medical and dental mission helped 300 patients, and circumcision was performed on several children, with the assistance of medical students from Order of Asclepius of West Visayas State University, College of Medicine and volunteer doctors and dentists namely Dr. Teresita Geroche, Dr. Aida Matchitar, Dr. Ernesto Garvilles, Dr. Mary Anne Sarrosa, Dr. Sofia Castor, Dr. Dolores Camariosa. The Department of Health Region 6, Provincial Office of Iloilo, and University Student Council of WVSU provided the medicines.

The organizers are grateful for the support of Asia Brewery, who provided the Summit bottled water; Dr. April Dream Rico, Rotaract Club of WVSU adviser, for the warm accommodation in her Carles Shangrila Resort; and Barangay Captain of Barobos, Bernardo Aquino Sr., for his sincere welcoming of the volunteers.

The Rotaract Club of West Visayas State University and the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo were fulfilled to extend help in the said community. Every volunteer is a gift to the world.
